Private classical instruction is offered at all levels by our highly qualified and experienced voice and piano faculty. Diverse styles of music will be taught, such as opera, musical theater, and contemporary music. Make-up lessons are not offered due to student cancellations. It is at the discretion of Operatunity to provide a cancellation waiting list as a courtesy.

A performance based educational vocal-arts program for students and adults with a strong interest and proficiency in singing. Vocal technique and a full lyric sound are at the forefront of Ms. DelGiudice’s work with the choir. Operatunity Performance Choir will explore classical, operatic, and jazz repertoire throughout the year. The annual opera will feature choir students in
lead roles as well as ensemble through auditions.

“A voice lesson in a classroom setting” — An educational music-and-arts program for students entering grades 2-4 in preparation for advanced Performance Choir. Operatunity Preparatory Choir will encourage initial musical building blocks and skills necessary to learning age-appropriate music and music reading technique. The Preparatory Choir will perform in combination with the Performance Choir and guest artists.

SINGING SMART Advanced Music Theory

SINGING SMART… Learning the language of music is an imperative for any serious musician. This course will present an aural/experience-based sequence to becoming musically literate. Participants will be guided in developing an understanding of the deep structure of music (tonality, meter/rhythm, harmony) from aural perception and visual representation to Vocal Production. They will use this knowledge to develop skills in reading music with comprehension. This course is excellent for college preparation.

Students will learn proper technique and terminology as it applies to the areas of ballet and tap. Students will also explore improvisation, in addition to learning about the history and background of dance as an art form. This class will be involved in two performances per school year, including the “Holiday Pops” and "Dance for Joy." Students must provide pink tights, white or pink leotard, pink ballet shoes, and black oxford tap shoes. Proper attire is expected for every class.

Level 1 Hip Hop

Level 1 Hip Hop will follow the same format at Ballet/Tap 1, where students will learn correct technique and terminology, while also being encouraged to improvise, and gain a greater understanding of dance as an art form. This class will be involved in two performances per school year, including the “Holiday Pops” and "Dance for Joy." Students must provide pink, white, or black leotard, black leggings or pants (not floor-length), and black jazz shoes (not jazz sneakers). Proper attire is expected for every class.

Little Primas Dance (ages 4-5)

Little Primas is a class that encourages young children to practice their gross motor skills, while also gaining a basic knowledge of ballet technique and terminology. The class will culminate in a performance at our annual"Dance for Joy" concert. Students must provide white tights, a white leotard, and pink ballet shoes, with hair off the face. Proper attire is expected for every class.

“You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown”
This year-long class focuses on developing the theatrical singer in preparation for professional engagements, college coursework, as well as auditions. Through intense preparation of solo repertoire, and scene study, the student will approach singing and acting with the depth and intensity essential to success in the music and theatrical field. Proper repertoire will be assigned. Each student will have stage time with participation from fellow students.Tuition: $80 / month

“Damn Yankees”
This Advanced class will follow the format of the Broadway Performance Class and will be team-taught by Artistic Director Andrea DelGiudice and Theatre Arts Director Dori Bryan. First semester will be dedicated to the classical and music theater repertoire in preparation for the second semester full-scale musical production.Tuition: $80 / month
